Yes, in contrast to standard LDAP this approach using attribute queries
with the persistentId had the following advantages:
- Queries can only be made if the user has at least once accessed the SP
- Only information about the user (and not the whole LDAP)
would be released
- Only those user attributes are released that this SP is allowed
to request
So, in some areas this solution would be superior to classic LDAP :-)
