Shibboleth SP redirectErrors config?

Hello,

I am using the documentation at
https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/NativeSPErrors . I am
attempting to set a value for the "redirectErrors" attribute. According to
the documentation, this is a URL which can be relative or absolute. When
specifying an absolute URL such as "https://example.org/script.php", errors
are redirected to the script as expected. However, when I attempt to use a
relative URL such as "script.php", "/script.php", "../script.php",
"/../script.php", etc., the browser is redirected to
https://example.org/Shibboleth.sso/SAML2/POST, in effect ignoring the value
of the relative URL.

Is the documentation correct w.r.t. relative URLs (i.e. can relative URLs be
used)? Is there a different method for specifying a relative URL?
