There's all the code in the IdP, the various contributions, and the dev
material in the wiki on building the Spring extensions. That's about it.

I built my plugin(s) by reading a lot of code. I haven't done any that do
database lookups, that's clearly more work. I would guess reusing bits
from the Relational connector while using the examples of existing
Principal connectors is about the best starting point.

We haven't seen enough demand to really look at building generic Principal
connectors for LDAP and JDBC, though it certainly makes sense to think
about.
