This question doesn't have anything to do with Shibboleth but I'll
give a couple of pointers anyway. You are clearly asking from an IdP
point of view, so the best answer is service categories, the first of
which is the Research & Scholarship Category. [1] This concept seems
to have some traction, not only in the InCommon Federation but
throughout R&E internationally. [2] This is spilling over into the
Scalable Privacy NSTIC grant. [3] An IAM Online webinar scheduled for
Jan will cover this topic in depth. [4]
