Creating attribute in resolver

To all,

I need to create an attribute that is derived from two other attributes logically.  So in general I have two attributes that are already defined in the attribute resolver and I would like to create a third attribute based on the following logic.  If attribute A is null and attribute B is yes then attribute c is student; else attribute c is null.  Looking through the documentation it appears that I should probably use a script attribute definition in the attribute resolver.  Is this correct or is there a better way to do this?
