Yes, you're right. I assumed it wasn't running because of a glitch rather
than "by design".

Almost certainly. I never looked at the runlevels, just the init script. I
thought that Obsoletes would prevent the scriptlet from running if it was
smart enough to do the upgrade at all.

I will try and have a fixed revision produced quickly enough to keep from
having to pull them.
