What are the issues with upgrading from 2.1.5 to 2.3.6?

The Readme file only mentions issues from 2.0.0 to 2.1.0.  I attempted the upgrade and though the status was ok (https://<FQDN>/idp/profile/Status<https://<FQDN/idp/profile/Status>) I get the following error when attempting to login to Google Apps.
