SP: Metadata request failed

When configuring a new service provider, I tried to generate Metadata but received "Metadata request failed" when accessing following URL:

https://shibboleth-sp1.cryptolab.local/Shibboleth.sso/Metadata


it seems that the SP loaded the Metadata fine. What can be the reason?
