Blank screen while connecting...

In the old version of shibboleth, there was a friendly message that popped up when a user connected to a SP.  The new version seems to just display a blank screen before connecting.  For some sites this takes around 3 or 4 seconds - longer if the system is being used a lot.  It's not a big deal, but it would be nice if there was an animated gif showing a spinner :)
 
Is this a totally stupid observation?
