Just to be clear, the MDA may not ever be what you'd want.  It's never
going to be registrar (i.e., something that presents a nice UI that
allows people to manage their data).  It's solely focused on reading
in metadata, validating it, munging it, and spitting it back out
according to a configurable ruleset.
