Configuring IIS for 1 SP, multiple domains

Hi,

I'm looking for resources on troubleshooting a Shibboleth SP with IIS, Load
Balancer, and two different domains pointing to the same set of files.

Setup:

                IIS 6

                Load Balancer

                Website physical location:
\\<servername>.example.com\myproject

                                Domain #1: https://basicsite.example.com -
on IIS port 443 - Site ID 1234, application ID="default"

                                Domain #2: https://site.othersite.com - on
IIS port 1443 - Site ID 9876, application ID="NonExampleID"

RequestMapper Path folder: "secure" for both domains. Folder
currently does not exist on server.

Results:

                https://basicsite.example.com/secure - success. Loads the
Test IdP page.

                https://site.othersite.com/secure - failure. Immediately
gets a 404 error, file not found. Stopped at the IIS level.

I have loaded each site using "shibboleth.sso", and they give the same ISAPI
error. I loaded another Domain that also points to
\\<servername>.example.com\myproject -
https://othersite.example.com/Shibboleth.sso - and got a message saying it
wasn't configured for Shibboleth, which I expected.

The final wrinkle is that another department is responsible for the physical
server, and installing the SP software, but I'm responsible for configuring
it. I do not have access to check internal IIS or Load Balancer
configuration files, I can only request "please verify that the LB config
file includes XXX". This other department has stated that not only are they
NOT Shibboleth experts, but that the only other client of theirs that had
set up an SP, has since discontinued it.

I've been searching and found pages that indicate what we're trying to do is
possible, but no real details on the actual setup. Any assistance and
guidance is appreciated.

Regards,

Anna
