Advice / wisdom on upgrading our IdP from 2.1.5 to 2.3

Hello 'users' community,

We're about to start testing the 2.3.x branch of the IdP, and I'm 
looking for advice, cautionary tales, and words of wisdom :). I've gone 
through all of the release notes and JIRA issues seeking any pitfalls so 
I can avoid them, but I figured I'd ask around too. What advice would 
you give someone going from 2.1.5 to 2.3.x that you wish you'd had?
