And if we were going to freeze tomorrow, I'm pretty sure I'm going to rip all the recent metadata indexing stuff out for now, since it's not really finished and I don't want to commit to the APIs. If we delay, esp another full week, I *might* instead be able to finish the remaining bits and convince myself that it could ship in 3.2. We're not using it yet, so it doesn't matter either way

I'd rather we not rip stuff out :-)

In all seriousness, thinking about it more, I'm really certain that
I don't want to shib the metadata indexing code. There's really no
point. We aren't using, so no reason to commit to API's that we
aren't sure about.
In hindsight, I wish I'd done that work on a branch. I started to,
but felt optimistic about getting it done. Next time I'll know
better. :-)
Should we check back in on Monday morning and see where we're at for next week ?
Should we use our regular call slot tomorrow for last-minute coordination ? I'm okay with that.

Either is fine with me. But if we're going to have a call tomorrow,
we need to decide soon-ish. Is there anything we actually need to
discuss in-person?
