My prediction personally is that longer term there won't be anything identical, only "mostly identical" and that's what RH wants anyway, doubt.

But regardless...

On the IdP side, we're not overly concerned about it, we can pay a few extra bucks if we have to to run at least occasional CI tests on their OS and Java but ultimately we recommend Amazon's Java for the moment anyway, to simply avoid the issue.

That's reinforced by the fact that the Linux vendors are not always in sync with where Java is. For example, RH7 has no official package for Java 17, only 11 and "latest", which is 20 now I presume.

The SP side is more troublesome, at some point if we have to get packages built for RH natively we probably can, it's just a challenge right now to get the Docker build doing that so we've been using the clones to avoid the problem. We will probably have to get that working one way or the other with OSS or individual developer accounts to get access to the repositories for building the images.
