Testbed configuration

Hi there,

what seems a long time ago now, in country a fair distance away, I
succesfully deployed a Shib v2 IdP and SP testbed ahead of joining
into that country's local test federation.

I am currently looking to setup a Shib v4 IdP and v3 SP testbed
and am falling, if not at the first hurdle, then certainly at a
hurdle within the first lap of the circuit.

In looking around for some pointers, I have found other "testbed"
questions being asked in shibboleth-users, where it was suggested
that the question be moved to shibboleth-dev, so I thought I'd
start here. Apologies if it's the wrong place.

I have followed my nose to

and have so far deployed

OS:    Rocky 8 OS
JDK:   java-11-openjdk
Jetty: 10

I have the demo-simple WAR running inside the Jetty and have
deployed the Shib v4 IdP WAR from the

    shibboleth-identity-provider-4.3.1

tarball into the Jetty. to the extent that I can see it, alongside
demo-simple, in the Jetty "known contexts" list.

I'm thinking that I'm at the configuration stage, and so I have
cloned the

    java-idp-jetty-base

Git repo and switched to the 10 branch.

But what now?

Is java-idp-jetty-base a project that I can "deploy" or should I just
be copying the files within its src hierachy into place and editing?
