Thanks a lot for the reply.

And I understand that the project needs to set priorities for time 
allocation.


Thanks for the pointer towards Debian packages.  I knew the packages 
were there, but considered them not-that-much updated.  But I now see 
they're at least getting security fixes backported.

We'll have a look at what options we have with these...
