If you could provide an example, that would be helpful. Perhaps on the

Btw, that page claims that the Spring factory beans "supports
conditional GET requests," which seems to contradict what's been said
in this thread.

Yes, I came to the same conclusion last night but I'm not yet sure how
best to proceed.
