There is nothing I can tell you about the proxy support other than what's there, it's on the roadmap as something we really need to do, which is why it's "planned", and it will happen in the normal course of the work we do under immense resource constraints that require us to devote over 60% of our time to basic housekeeping and maintenance. I don't see it on the table until 4.0 at the earliest.

The OIDC work that is happening connected to us is a GEANT-funded project being worked on by a Finnish group with design help from us and that we hope becomes at least a first order extension if not eventually something we can add to the core through the addition of more permanent contributors to support it. We have no direct control over how much public development or design conversations takes place but you're not missing anything that isn't on this list aside from relatively uninteresting discussions we've had reviewing the libraries they chose to use and the implications on the rest of the code base.

It is historically like pulling teeth to get people to stop discussing design issues in private threads and such, but this is where it happens, if it happens.
