The challenge is that Spring is uninterested now in XML-based anything (but I don't believe wiring annotations belong in production-worthy code), and that Spring isn't focused on any kind of end-user exposure of wiring, which is something that gave me serious pause when we really started working on V3.

I'm not sure any other project has really attempted to do what we've done, or tried to do anyway.
