Name-value pair mapping strategy for attribute resolver

Couple things:

- Proposed patches should be filed in Jira so they can be tracked. We won't go back and remember notes to the list.

- Something more than a simple patch via diff can't be provided without following the contribution policy [1] because of the IPR requirements.

As you will see, there are a number of possible ways to do it. The simplest is just licensing the contribution via Apache 2.0 license, but your university would have to agree to that (as it would any other option involved).

Sorry if that's a burden, but that's our obligation as stewards of the project.
