Configuration Storage

Shib gurus,

Here at Gluu, we are preparing to upgrade to Shib IDP3. To put it 
bluntly, we hate file system configuration storage. It creates all sorts 
of problems for us when we automate cluster deployment.

Is there any service that I'm missing that would enable us to map these 
to a database or LDAP server, or is this something we're going to have 
to write / contribute?
