Then the problem would have to be a basic error in the file causing the
name of the connector and the ref to it to not match up, and the
resolver isn't even loading your plugin/connector. If it were and it
wasn't working, all sorts of other errors would show up when it tried to
construct everything at the very start.

But that doesn't fit the idea that changing it from a custom type to
Static fixes it. So that means what you're saying can't be accurate or
there's more to the story.
