Agree. It's generally better to fail in an obvious way than a subtle one,
and in particular this case where the fix is so straightforward. Bump
memory (presumably easy these days given virtualization) and restart. Also,
this issue is getting a fair bit of press via Shib lists and the InCommon
community, so I would hope clueful operators are well aware, or could get
that way pretty easily.
