As Tom said, that isn't really the question, it's what that technology 
looks like, and people have demonstrated that the EDS works for that use 
case. And a lot of the extra features some people want are already in the 
EDS + SP together, such as advanced metadata capabilities.

I'm not sure I understand what that refers to specifically (a limit on the 
number of metadata sources?), but the EDS certainly handles many sources.
