No, I think we were focusing too much on the reverse, plus to make that work we'd still need to add various referencing mechanisms to be able to combine the two. But I'm sure it's worth looking at further.

We really didn't ever look closely at what a native approach would look like, or if it would be practical for something that's so full of relationships.

Simpler plugins is a goal but so is keeping the config sane.
