Versions post 3.1.0 release ?

We agreed to move back to 3 digit snapshots, so both should be 
3.1.1-SNAPSHOT. The parent POM is left as whatever it will be tagged as, 8 
I think.

No, not unless we immediately make a change of that nature.

It should stay 8 until we actually make a change to the parent POM. Our 
biggest problem is that we keep separating the first code change from the 
version changes. They need to happen just in time as part of the check-in 
that does the code change so there's no question about why they changed. 
Doesn't have to be the same commit, but should at least be consecutive and 
done right at that point.
