IdP conversionService in Unit Tests

Granted, this is not a Shibboleth/OpenSAML question per se but I am having a bit of trouble getting the IdP’s conversionService collection to register in JUnit tests that are run by Spring. Specifically, I need the duration converter to kick in, and it’s not. So before I dig deeper, I wanted to ask, is there an existing spring-based unit test already available that takes advantage of converters?
