Proposed updates to Java product versioning policy

I'm late to the party here, but I think that the new wording is excellent
and petty much fits what I'd expected to see.  I particularly appreciate
having the motivation spelt out (Ian will correct me, but don't UK laws
follow this practise?)

To ensure that my understanding is correct (and not as a suggested change)
may I probe this statement for 2.2.3->2.1.7 

"Yes, compatibility with prior minor versions is guaranteed. Configuration
files may need to be adjusted to remove options that are not available in
the older version."

We could add "and any plugins built against the 2.2.* may need to be
reverted."
