We do need to figure out what we want to do about this for the future. The obvious possibilities would be to rename the branches using some convention or just delete them, leaving the commits accessible through tags.

In one of the repositories under consideration, the branch actually has commits after the last tag so that would need some additional thought.

It's possibly worth mentioning that deleting a branch or tag in a public repository (as opposed to creating a new one or fast-forwarding a branch) is intentionally restricted, at least for now.
