IdP git repo: 3.1.2 branch/tag

I am trying to find a snapshot of the IdP code for 3.1.2. In the git repo,
I neither see a branch nor a tag for 3.1.2. What could I be missing? Also,
there are a lot of what seem to be "bogus" tags labeled under
"emptycommit"s, etc. Should they be there?
