The major advantage is that it stops people playing with things they
shouldn't.
The minor one is that the iterative properties capability of Spring, being
more powerful than the Jetty one makes it easier to introduce backwards
compatible changes; don't ask me for details I just remember things about 3
months ago 'If I could use spring property replacement this would be
easier', but I managed without.
