idp-v3 2nd look

The v3 attribute resolvers can be configured as Spring beans,
in addition to the legacy(?) v2 attribute-resolver.xml file.
Is there an intention of moving to this model and depreciating the
v2 config file?

I'm wondering if future attribute resolvers might support only
the v3 bean configuration.

No other components seem to have gone this route.  Why only the
attribute resolvers?
