SAML2 : SP Initiated : Is RelayState a mandatory Parameter?

Hi,We had implemented SP initiated SAML2 using opensaml 2.2.3 . All our IDP
clients working fine.I have a doubt regarding 'RelayState' parameter -As per
SAML2 SP-initiated  standard flow, is it mandatory that the IDP should send
back the 'RelayState'(which was sent to  IDP along with SAMLRequest) to SP
along with SAML response ?(If we keep 'RelayState' optional, and if
'RelayState' not found along with the SAMLResponse, the default home page
can be shown to the user).So just wanted to know Is it mandatory that the
IDP should send back the 'RelayState'(which was sent to  IDP along with
SAMLRequest) to SP along with SAML response ?Any help would be
