It would also be really handy if someone wanted to document formally the logging *system* we use, and how it interacts with the 17 other logging systems other people use. For example, I saw something from the Santuario people the other day about their V2 switching logging libraries and my head near exploded just wondering whether that was something that simplified things for us, or made them more complicated, what with the Maven excludes and all.
