Versioning parent projects in JIRA ?

I think that might get a little confusing, and would suggest just dropping
the 2. and 3., and use v2- or something like that for the older stuff, and
just leave the new stuff alone as 1.0 or whatever's appropriate.

Or 1.0 in Jira would be my suggestion. But I get what you're doing, and
yes.
I'd like to have the Java crew weigh in on what I'm suggesting. I know
there was a reason the versioning was integral, but it doesn't feel like
it fits how we're using this stuff to me. But I'd like to make sure we
have a sane approach if we do what I was suggesting. This is all still
pretty new to me.
