Postpone Gradle ?

I would like us to postpone the notion of using Gradle for
installation and upgrade.

I think that the versioning and layout of configuration files may
really be subjective, and we should give serious thought to
introducing yet another DSL to the project.

In lieu of Gradle I think I prefer straight-up Java or some sort of
overlay, maybe web or maven.
