I am mostly following along making sure I can reproduce your findings.

Could you tar.gz your local testbed and upload to shibboleth.net ?

We could move the testbed to svn.shibboleth.net or maybe Brent could
open his up somehow, but I was hoping to make idp-distribution
worthwhile for testing. Let me know which you prefer.

I need to understand the interplay of Velocity, Web Flow, and our
context objects for rendering Views. Which is what I was about to play
with.

At some point I need a refresher conversation on serialization.

It seems reasonable to not support flow snapshots for now, with a
custom FlowExecutionRepository as a finite work item to provide such
support. Do you want me to spend time investigating that effort ?
