Thanks. Speak of the devil. No, I hadn't actually seen it. I looked at
the diff between 4.3 and 4.3.1. The SSL issue is just that their SSL
socket factory (actually 2 of them, an older one is deprecated) allows a
null hostname verifier in the constructor. Now if null, they default it
to the BROWSER_COMPATIBLE_HOSTNAME_VERIFIER one. The rest of the
changes look innocuous enough, so I'll just bump us to 4.3.1 in the v3
parent POM, after doing a unit test suite run.
