For me, it would be nice to type "git clone <something>", import into
Eclipse, and then work on the v3 stack, with git fetch or whatever
mirroring svn. So, not a conversion, but a mirror. And that mirror can
just be one-way, I am not concerned right now about dcomitting back to
the Subversion repository; I tend to branch-per-idea, and that is
cumbersome for me using Eclipse and svn.

The main issues I have come across are svn externals and empty
directories, as mentioned on the wiki page[1].
