opensaml 3.0-SNAPSHOT

Hello,
I've been helping develop an ECP client using opensaml 3.0 snapshots from maven. Recently these artifacts changed and are now being built by JDK 1.7 which means I cannot run them with Java 6. Was that intentional and will opensaml 3.0 require Java 7? Perhaps this is simply an oversight and the libraries can revert to be built using JDK 1.6.
