RESTful Storage API ?

Apologies in advance.

As I clumsily mentioned on the last dev call, I have been wondering if
providing a StorageServiceServlet with a RESTful API would be a good
idea or not.

That said, I have not implemented a RESTful API, so I do not really
know what I am asking, but it looks to me that the current Storage API
would preclude a RESTful interface without an abstraction layer.
