I have generally the same feeling. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's
useless to show it at all, but I think the IdP information is the relevant
thing. The whole point is to create a consistent experience when providing
credentials, and at least in our case, we have to provide a lot of help
desk-supplied links and information to deal with users having password
problems.
