Carlotta,

There's not a whole lot we can say in general regarding server  
specifications for the IdP because it's a Java servlet.  We do say it  
"is a standard Java web application based on the Servlet 2.4  
specification" on that page.  There are more specific versioning  
requirements in the documentation for configuration of each container.

The SP is a native distribution that runs on a bunch of platforms and  
integrates with a number of web servers.  There are (inconsistently  
formatted) version requirements for each distribution noted on those  
subpages as well.

I think we haven't aggregated that information because of the inherent  
challenge of maintaining the same detailed information in multiple  
locations.  But I think it'd make a lot of sense to add general  
requirements to the main product pages maintained by the Consortium  
itself:

(no, we don't actually have boxes or spiffy little geometric figures)

If you have further questions in this vein, the users' list is  
probably a better spot for them.
