The spec just requires messages, it says nothing about the UI at all. The
diagram is strictly message sequence, nothing else.

The UI is entirely subjective. I'm sure there are people who think hitting
logout at an SP should leave you, well, at the SP. The problem is that
logout never really works for everything, so you need some place to report
that, and SPs typically can't or wouldn't want to.
