This was moved from being Oracle-proprietary into the open-source JDK with Java 11, and extended in 14 and 16. So all of the interesting features already exist by Java 17.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0">The JIT compiler is smart enough to remove all overhead associated with it (through dead code removal) if you don’t actually turn it on at run time, and it seems pretty lightweight even when enabled.
