<td class="text-paragraph-pattern-container mobile-resize-text " style="padding: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0 0 10px 0"> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0; margin-top: 0">For our own posterity and because we've been looking at the issues with the copy of the Spring integration that's part of Velocity 2.3, it has the same bug (which is where I got my modified version of this code).</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">The original Spring code, and Velocity 2.3, walk the list of paths and check each one using that resource.getFile() test, and if all of them pass muster as filesystem-based, it installs <b>only</b> a file-based Velocity ResourceLoader with those paths. That's what would happen here since our paths are explicitly file-based plus the classpath location(s) that Wildfly is turning into file-backed. So the end result would also fail with the original Spring support, and in effect you could not leverage the classpath and Spring's loader with Wildfly.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">My modified version adjusted the algorithm so that it checks each path but it creates separate lists of "file paths" and "not file paths" and always installs both kinds of Velocity loaders with the appropriate paths for each case, i.e., allowing you to combine both types of locations so that we could maintain user views and the system views.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Since we control the code for this, I can patch it as suggested to exclude classpath: from the eval, but of course that's yet another fork off of what's in Velocity 2.3. That's actually good though, because we now have a legitimate patch to contribute to them with a bug report that demonstrates Wildfly would break on the code they included without a fix. A bug is better ammo than a RFE I think.</p> </td>
