In detail, the plugin fetches the list of consentable and consented attributes directly from those contexts, and encodes encrypted contents of both lists inside the tokens distributed to RPs (authorization code, access/refresh tokens). Before releasing the actual claim values either to id_token or user info response, the plugin filters out any claims that are consentable but not consented. All the other claims are released, including the claims that didn’t exist from either of these lists, which is the case when attribute-release is not in use at all.</p> <p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:10px;; margin: 10px 0 0 0"> <br> There’s no need to deal with consentable attributes: attribute-release flow filters out the attributes that are not consented from the map returned by AttributeContext.getIdPAttributes(). All the attributes existing in this map can be considered as consented ones, and these are the only ones that should ever be released to RPs.<br> <br> The default configuration uses attribute-release-query flow in the backend endpoints (token and userinfo) for filtering out any non-consented attributes from the response. Obviously this requires server-side storage service to be used for storing consents. Another difference to the previous versions is that the consent reflects to the previous consent given by the end-user and stored to the records: previously it matched to the consent when the end-user authentication was done for issuing the authorization code / access/refresh tokens (depending on the OIDC flow). Depending on the configuration (especially with long access token lifetimes or enabling the use of refresh tokens), that authentication event may have been quite far in the past, and multiple other authentications with possibly varying consents may have happened in between.<br> <br> The “session-specific” consent can be supported by a profile configuration predicate: if it returns true then the list of consented attributes can still be stored inside the tokens as with previous versions, and the backend endpoints could exploit it instead of exploiting the attribute-release-query flow. This also removes the requirement of using server-side storage service for consent.</p> </td>
