<td class="text-paragraph-pattern-container mobile-resize-text " style="padding: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0 0 10px 0"> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0; margin-top: 0">It's one of those things some people seemed to really feel strongly about because most people don't tend to notice log noise unless it takes the IdP down, so the idea was that in not paying attention you would find random SPs failing because individual metadata sources were offline.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">One reason I haven't pushed to change it is that I think the remote aggregate variants are really legacy at this point so it's just not as critical anymore (if you're still using an eduGAIN federation's aggregate with an IdP now...yikes).</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Every change to a default adds confusion when you have to qualify behavior by version and so forth, so given that, and the ease of changing it, just didn't seem to justify it. What I would check is what our examples show though, they should really be false, as should any federation documentation.</p> </td>
