                                                    <td class="text-paragraph-pattern-container mobile-resize-text " style="padding: 0px; border-collapse: collapse; padding: 0 0 10px 0"> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0; margin-top: 0">I suppose you want "a separate database table for PairwiseID values" because you'll have 2 <tt>StoredId</tt>-type DataConnectors in your attribute-resolver: One setting <tt>encoding="BASE64"</tt> for use with eduPersonTargetedID attributes (for compaibility) and the other one to BASE32 for use with pairwise-id attributes?<br> If so then instead of any custom coding I'd probably just use 2 different databases (with identical default table names), referenced from different <tt>BeanManagedConnection</tt> elements in the resolver, and <tt>shibboleth.JPAStorageService.DataSource</tt> beans differing only in their JDBC URL.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">As for hashing or not: I still think a (hypothetical) HashedId DataConnector plugin type (as suggested in <a href="https://issues.shibboleth.net/jira/browse/IDP-1306" title="Need to add the new SAML pairwise and subject ids to attribute-resolver-full.xml" class="issue-link" data-issue-key="IDP-1306" style="color: #3b73af; text-decoration: none"><del>IDP-1306</del></a>) might be useful, though it'd merely provide syntactic sugar for functionality that's already present when using Scripts.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">Not sure I follow that hashing something makes a secret out of the source data: If there is no requirement for the relying party to know an identifier value verbatim I wouldn't send it verbatim. To me that's just basic data minimisation. (And those affected by GDPR may have additional motivation to apply such methods, since "technical measures" protecting personal data are highly encouraged. But even legally it remains personal data after hashing, sure. It's just one more thing we can present that we did to protect the data in case we're ever audited or should Bad Thingsā„¢ ever happen.)</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">I can't contribute anything to how one would persist (generated) subject-id values but I can see why Vlad thinks something like pairwise-ids, only with an invariant SP, is closest. If you need to store IDs for stability (i.e., for the ability to re-map them after the source attribute changed) you'd want that ability for subject-ids just as you'd want it for pairwise-ids.</p> </td>
