That would make it really trivial to inject a jar that replaces the password flow and exfiltrates passwords, or worse.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">We already have a hook that allows the built-in flow map to be overridden, so instead I think we should continue to explicitly register any flows in the core software, and rely on non-META-INF classpath locations registered by hand.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">If a plugin attempts to overwrite a flow ID already "known", the factory bean will throw and the IdP won't start up. Similarly, if two plugins try and use the same flow ID, the second one causes it to fail. So no plugins can auto-register a system flow or the same flow.</p> <p style="margin: 10px 0 0 0">That's not foolproof obviously because it's always possible to get into the internal objects and mess with the mappings, but it prevents really obvious attempts and more importantly accidents that would result in unexpected behavior.</p> </td>
